Terms of Use

These terms cover the Segno app and this website. By using either one, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

1. Segno is free and open source

Segno is free. Its code is open source under the MIT License, which lets you use, copy, change and share it, as long as the license notice stays with it. If these terms and the MIT License ever disagree about the code, the MIT License wins.

The name "Segno", the Segno logo and the design of this website belong to Feras Hania. Please don't use them in a way that suggests your project is Segno or was made by me.

2. You're responsible for what you play and download

Segno plays music files on your computer, and can play and save music from websites. Segno doesn't host, sell or provide any music. It's a tool, like a web browser.

• Only download music you have the right to download, for example music you own, music that's free to download, or music the site lets you download.
• Follow the rules of the sites you use, like YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp and Spotify. Some of them don't allow downloading.
• Copyright laws are different in each country. You're responsible for following the ones that apply to you.
• Don't use Segno to break the law, or to share music you don't have the rights to.

If someone makes a claim against me because of how you used Segno, for example by downloading or sharing music you didn't have the right to, you're responsible for that claim, as far as the law allows.

3. Not connected to other services

Segno isn't made by, endorsed by or connected to YouTube, Google, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp or any other service it works with. Their names belong to their owners and are only used to say what Segno works with. These services can change at any time, which can stop some Segno features from working.

4. Other tools Segno uses

Segno downloads and uses yt-dlp, and Deno when needed, from their official GitHub pages. They're separate projects with their own licenses.

5. No warranty

Segno and this website are provided "as is", without any warranty. I work hard to make Segno good and safe, but I can't promise it will always work, have no bugs or never lose data. Keep a backup of music you care about.

6. Limits on liability

As far as the law allows, I'm not responsible for any damage or loss from using Segno or this website, or from not being able to use them, including lost files or data. Some places don't allow limits like this, so parts of this may not apply to you.

7. Donations

• Donations are voluntary gifts to support Segno. They don't buy any product, feature, support or priority.
• Donations can't be refunded, and crypto payments can't be reversed.
• Check the coin and the network before you send. Anything sent on the wrong network or to the wrong address is lost and can't be recovered.
• Any taxes on your side are yours to handle.

8. Updates and changes

Segno can update itself, and I may change or stop Segno or this website at any time. I may also update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using Segno or this website after a change means you accept the new terms.
